RKMEH was founded in 1968 by Prof Dr. R.K. Mishra, a name synonymous with Eye care not just in  Jabalpur but the whole of MP from the early 70s until his retirement in 2010. He was a Prof in NSCB Medical College Jabalpur and one of the founding members of MPSOS. Prof was recipient of numerous awards including the prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award “ by All India Ophthalmic Society. He was given the title Prof Emeritus by Medical College Jabalpur.

With over 35 years of experience, Dr. Atul Mishra is the current Director of our hospital. Under his leadership the hospital transcended new heights and became the first laser retina centre of Mahakaushal. Being a fellow in medical retina himself Dr. Mishra performed thousands of lasers and managed diabetic retinopathy and other retinal diseases. Under his leadership the hospital developed into a leading phaco centre of the city. 

Carrying the legacy further, Dr. Ram is a third generation ophthalmologist at our centre. After completing his MS, Currently, he is a fellow in Phacorefractive surgery, glaucoma surgery and other anterior segment surgeries at one of the well-known charitable eye Hospital in Gujarat and has performed more than thousand SICS and hundreds of Phaco. Like his father, he has a keen interest in Medical retina apart from Phaco refractive Surgery. A young, dynamic doctor, who is on a mission to provide freedom from spectacle dependency, to improve patient experience by providing latest technology, and to make this Centre a centre of excellence and the leading eye Hospital of Madhya Pradesh.
